{"id":3057,"date":"2026-08-05T01:30:04","date_gmt":"2026-08-05T01:30:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.cnnglobalnews.com\/?p=3057"},"modified":"2026-08-05T01:30:04","modified_gmt":"2026-08-05T01:30:04","slug":"armed-man-detained-at-trump-golf-course-ahead-of-presidential-visit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cnnglobalnews.com\/?p=3057","title":{"rendered":"Armed man detained at Trump golf course ahead of presidential visit"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Police said notebooks containing \u201cconcerning statements\u201d were found at the suspect\u2019s home<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"0\" data-end=\"75\"><strong data-start=\"0\" data-end=\"75\"><\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"302\" data-end=\"470\">An armed man was arrested after allegedly conducting suspicious surveillance at Donald Trump\u2019s golf course in California ahead of the US president\u2019s visit, police said.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"472\" data-end=\"654\">Trump, who has survived several assassination attempts, is set to attend a Republican National Committee dinner at Trump National Golf Club in Rancho Palos Verdes on Tuesday evening.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"656\" data-end=\"893\">According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff\u2019s Department, deputies detained a <em>\u201csuspicious individual\u201d<\/em> on Sunday after he was seen taking photographs and videos on the property and appeared to be <em>\u201cmonitoring security-planning activities.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"895\" data-end=\"1102\">The man, identified as Jeanine John Teale, had a 16-round magazine loaded with hollow-point ammunition in his pocket. A loaded pistol and another magazine were found in a vehicle parked near the golf course.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1104\" data-end=\"1405\">Deputies obtained a warrant to search Teale\u2019s home in Downey, where they found additional firearms, including an illegally modified AR-platform rifle, as well as body armor and two radios.
